Commissioned and performed by Quinteto Latino, composer Carla Lucero's opera chronicles the life and work of legendary Chicanx leader and LGBTQ+ activist, Olga Talamante. The opera explores her journey from working the garlic fields as a child in Gilroy, California, to her decades of activism in the US, Mexico, and in Argentina, where she became a political prisoner. Ultimately, Olga frees herself from the psychological hold of her captors and releases her heart from 40 years of suppressing the memories of violence perpetrated against her. She finally finds peace, and in the process of healing, the love of her life, Vola. Soprano Aléxa Anderson, tenor Eric Levintow, and mezzo-soprano Jessica Gonzalez-Rodriguez make up the cast for the premiere of this important work.

The stars are aligning, and the story of “The Little Prince” is coming to life on stage!
In this captivating adaptation by Virginie Personne and Marie Plouviez, we delve into the heartwarming journey of a young prince who embarks on an interstellar adventure. From distant planets to our very own Earth, he encounters themes of loneliness, friendship, love, and loss. Through the synergy of dance, drama, and videography, our performers breathe life into Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved book.
Brought to you straight from Del Rio Laboratories, Jurassic Drag is part musical spectacular, part old-fashioned variety show with one awe-inspiring surprise for audiences: dinosaurs still roam the earth, and they’re talented to boot. Starring Sherry Vine, Jackie Beat, Coco Peru, Varla Jean Merman, and hosted by a to-be-announced superstar, our Jurassic specimens will impress with stunning feats of song, dance, and comedy. After all, they’ve survived a hostile world and trekked the earth collectively for more than 170 years… which we all know in drag time is roughly 250 million. For that reason, we at Del Rio Laboratories thought it imperative to gather them together for the first time in herstory because let’s face it folks, they’re all gonna be dead soon!
